The Lord Loves Effort
Good week.
Ya so it was a pretty decent week, putting forth the effort and then seeing the blessings! In this area there hasn't had anyone come to church in a few weeks, but with some grinding this week we were able to get 3 people to come! Angie, Ciro, and Daymar. And they all seem like they want to come back next week!
It's cool because Ciro and his girlfriend Daymar were media referrals like a while ago but without much contact. We decided to hit up their house to see if they were home, and if not we were going to drop them. But they were! It was a great chat about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then Saturday night we were close by and just knocked their door to remind them about church and boom they came!
With Angie it's also funny. She was a media referral as well (most people who progress are media referrals lol). We had plans to meet with her but before that we went to a recent converts house, Hansel. Hansel said "hey guys can I come with you today?" Like bro obviously. So he came with us and we talked to Angie and homie was rizzing it up. Haha not really, but we gave him her number and he offered to bring her to church in his car and they pulled up on Sunday together. Future marriage???!! They are both like mid 20s haha.
Also that same day I got locked in a bathroom lol. They door handle on the inside was broken but I didn't see it and closed the door and it locked but I couldn't open it cuz it was broken haha. Anyway I was in there for like 10 minutes but eventually moved the handle in the right way. The lady didn't even have keys to the door lol.
Also fun note: our house got flooded and part of the ceiling collapsed. 😅🌊🌊
The lady who lives above us was cleaning her bathroom or something and idk how but the sink like fell/broke and her house started filling up with water which then started seeping through our ceiling and then eventually it just came crashing down to with a ton of water in the hallway. We cleaning it all up but still missing a ceiling haha.
(Mom adding eye update: last week he had a big bump/blister type thing on his eye. A Colombian told him to take some black tea type mixture and soak a cotton ball in there, then put that on his eye. So he did-- and it popped!)
A couple other pictures:
This is a picture of a baptism from Saturday in my old area Edmundo Lopez. The lady in the middle is Lewis. She's the mom of Santiago, a kid that I baptized over a year ago! At the time she wasn't interested at all. But here we are! It really brings me joy to see these people come unto Christ and bring together eternal families. You never know the effect that your choices will make in the long run!
Mosiah 3:14
And the Lord God hath sent his holy prophets among all the children of men, to declare these things to every kindred, nation, and tongue, that thereby whosoever should believe that Christ should come, the same might receive remission of their sins, and rejoice with exceedingly great joy, even as though he had already come among them.
I'm thankful for prophets. Old and new!
