Villa Hermosa

Hey guys! Last week I got transferred to Villa Hermosa in Medellín!! My comp is Elder Marín from Lima Peru. It has been super awesome with him and getting to live here in Medellín for my first time!

So 2 weeks ago when I was still in Lindaraja, we had a baptism for Jesenia Lopez! It was super awesome, she is super faithful and a lot of members came to support and it was just awesome. Then that Sunday Elder Cloward and I went to a member's house to make cinnamon rolls!! They turned out decent, considering the fact that she didn't have any measuring utensils except an old gram scale thing. But ya pretty decent! We watched a little bit of The Best 2 Years so that was fun. Then had to pack! Always the worst part of transfers.

A few pictures with other members in Lindaraja.

Then I got here! Fun fact, President Florez's (previous mission president) brother lives in this ward and they look super similar. The members here are super nice and they are all very willing to help with the mission work. Also this area of Medellin is just straight hills. We are up further in the mountains so we have pretty good views but also lots of stairs and hills. But its good exercise!

Some miracles of the week was that Sofia (from Lindaraja) got baptized and I got to watch on a video call! She had a huge turn around after going to FSY and it was so awesome to see how much happier she looks and confident she is. Then also we met a family on Friday and invited them to church and all 5 of them came! 1 mom and 4 kids! The youngest is 12, and it was super cool. Also President and Sister Lythgoe showed up to our ward randomly so that was a surprise.

The focus in church these days has been to find personal revelation like Joseph Smith did. And here are the verses that inspired him to seek the Lord.
James 1:5-6, 22
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed

And I wanted to add in this verse too because I like it haha.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Joseph asked in faith, and then he showed that he wasn't just a hearer of the word. I give you all a call to action. Nah I'm just kidding. But fr you should read the entire chapter of James 1, it's super good.

God be with you till we meet again.
