Feeling Good, Like I Should

Went and took a walk around the neighborhood. Feeling blessed. Never stressed. Got that sunshine on my Sunday best.

Hey guys. Elder Bingham is a very happy missionary this week. Elder Cloward and I have been trying from week 1 to get all of our friends with baptismal dates. We now have 7 people! This week Jesenia will get baptized and we are super excited for that. She is awesome, understands everything, and is honestly just a homie.

We then have Victoria, a 12 year old girl who is really cool. She plans on getting baptized on the 28th with her older brother in a different branch but she belongs to Lindaraja and we have been teaching her. Then there is Diana Marcela who is having some trouble understanding the Book of Mormon, but is super excited to be baptized. That's Febuary 1st.

But then this week we were able to see 2 really big miracles. We were finally able to sit down with a family of 3, mom dad and little girl, who after a long time in the church finally accepted a date for the 8th of February. And then Sofia!! She has been coming to church since I got here. Her mom is a member, but Sofia always said that "someday" she will get baptized but wasn't interested for now. We told her 2 weeks ago to pray about getting baptized on Feb 1st. Then this last week she went to FSY in Medellin and came back and is now determined to get baptized. She said she loved it all and is then even asked if she could get baptized even earlier, so we are going to try to do it the 25th of Jan.

The only downside is that we are now going into week 6 of the transfer and because I already have 3 transfers I will probably leave. It's also sad because the branch is really starting to set plans to help us and we can see a lot of willingness to help. Good things are happening here in Lindaraja!!

Also my dear mother sent me hair clippers from Amazon this week and so I gave my comp a haircut one morning and then I gave myself one! I think I did a decent job for my first time without any help. Elder Bingham's barber shop coming soon.

But ya it was a great week. Elder Cloward got a little sick but is feeling better, and just good times. Also we had dinner with the King family, from Utah just visiting for fun, and it was really fun. Super nice family and the dad bore a strong testimony of how his mission was a big turning point in his life that he will forever be grateful for, "even if the scorecard doesn't show it." He served in Asia and had 0 baptisms, but was there for 3 excommunications!

I am super grateful for the call to serve in Colombia, and I know that I have talked a lot about the awesome people we have here but at the end of the day a successful missionary is the missionary that works his tail off and is 100% obedient, 2 things that I can work on a little.

Scripture of the week from Elder Bingham:
Mosiah 3:
7 And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people.
8 And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God...
17 And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.

Jesus loves you.

amen.

Elder Bingham
