Casa de Vainas y Doctrina

 Hey guys how's it going?

Things here have been going really good. Been working hard to find people who want to come closer to Jesus! This is a really fun house too. Elder Castillo knows a lot of deep doctrine and is also really crazy, so the 4 of us in the house have good gospel discussions but then also mess around a lot (that's what the title is saying btw). But ya! Rionegro has really good bakeries and its been fun to buy bunuelos and churros and that stuff.

Also God bless America! happy 4th of July! There are 2 gringos in the ward here and we made sure to message them happy 4th jaja. Elder Alexander and I bought some hamburgers to celebrate and we got to call the fams for a sec. It was fun!

We had some cool experiences here in the mission field this week. We went like 30 minutes outside of town to another pueblo called la Ceja. There we found a guy who had responded to one of those church ads you might see on YouTube. Usually in Colombia when you get one of those it means they never respond when you text or call, or they thought you were Catholic missionaries and they aren't interested. But this guy was cool! We started chatting and we noticed that he talked about sometimes he lacks faith and isn't always sure that God hears his prayers. I thought of a scripture, and had him read it out loud.

Mark 9 23-24 "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe..."

As he read out loud, he took a pause and then finished reading while kinda choking up, "help thou mine unbelief." The Spirit came into the room very strong. I almost teared up! It was a really strong moment. Not some crazy miracle, but a strong confirmation of the Spirit.

Another actually cool miracle this week was that the other Elders in the house have a couple that has come to church a few times and want to get baptized, but need to be married first. But here, marriages cost money and people are usually too poor to pay for it. But at church yesterday, basically a rich dude pulled up, starting talking to them, and then said "Bet, don't worry about it I'll pay for it all." He gave the missionaries all the money they would need to marry them and the couple was super super grateful!

Another fun little experience was when we contacted a 21ish year old kid on the street and starting talking to him about Jesus, and in our 10ish minute conversation, about 3 people showed up and bought drugs off of him right in front of us. Fun stuff.

It has been good here in Colombia. I hope all you guys are doing well and doing good. There is a difference!
