Bautismo de Santi
Hey everyone!
This week was super great, I had exchanges with Elder Jensen and the best thing of the week was the baptism of Santi! It was so much fun and the other Elders in the ward also had a baptism at the same time so that was fun. We finished with pancerotis and ice cream!!
Elder Davis and I walked home from the baptism and it was very interesting; with a drunk guy stopping us and telling us he has respect for us because we are "monkeys" which means white people, and then another guy following us for a solid 5 minutes in the dark whistling at us and yelling for us to stop.
But just so everyone knows, I have now mastered the trompo (spinny top thing). I can keep up with the kids and now I'm starting to learn tricks! I brought it to church yesterday and Solomon used it for a second and his grandma saw him and started yelling at him, "Why on earth did you bring that to church!?" and he said, "It's not mine it's Elder Bingham's!!"
I sleep right underneath the air conditioning, which is really nice because it's really cold. But one night we forgot to turn the air back up to a temperature where I don't freeze to death. I woke up at 5:30am and I was freezing in my hoodie and pants, so I went outside in the heat and slept in the hammock. It was so good I slept until about 7:45am and then I got ready for the day. I am officially a costeño. (coastal).

Matthew 20:28 "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." Something really interesting is that in the Spanish version of the Bible, it says "...not to be served, but to serve..."
Hey, read the scriptures every day and pray every day. And be grateful for the knowledge we have of the Gospel! We met these 2 teenagers that are super cool, Cristian and Juan, and they didn't like to pray because it was always memorized. So we taught them how to pray! God is good, and so is mini chip ice cream for $1.
