There are no stop lights here
Greetings everyone.
I got my visa!! I'm leaving for Colombia on October 12th so that's sick. At least I'm going to get to listen to general conference in English. And by the next one I'll be fluent anyway so.
The fun stuff:
We were doing some service this week and did lots of wood choppin with axes and it so fun and satisfying. When I get home in 2 years I will do it for free for all you farmers out there.

| I used my hand for reference for how huge this wood WAS until I destroyed it like a man. |
We were knocking doors and when we go out into the farm areas (which is like 99% of the time because that's all Challis is) we sometimes will ask "do you go to a church? Which one?" And about 3 times a day we get the response "this is my church" as they gesture to the mountains and nature. Uhhhhhh OK buddy.
We knocked on a trailer in the country and this big old dude comes out and was literally psycho. Homie told us that there isn't a God, but one time his neighbor had cancer really bad and he went in front of her house at 3 AM with eagle feathers on his arms and did a dance for the Mountain spirits and the next day she didn't have cancer! So hey next time someone you know gets sick, there is a simple solution.
Spiritual Thoughts:
I gave a talk in church yesterday, and I basically just read the talk "Peacemakers Needed" By Prez. Nelson, because that is my favorite talk of all time. It is always a wakeup call to be more Christlike by being kind to everyone. And it is very easy to apply! Sometimes I feel like talks are hard to apply in my everyday life, but this one is just so simple. Treat everyone with compassion. And that is something I always need to be working on. And so do you bro.
My companion and I were talking about some of the evidences that the Book of Mormon is true. And it's really cool to talk about, but at the end of the day we won't gain a testimony of the BoM just from hearing the "facts" that support it. It comes from reading it and feeling the Spirit and the peace and guidance it brings! And honestly, it's very easy to be skeptic of the evidences. But it's harder to be skeptic of the personal experience of feeling the Spirit and seeing how the BoM helps me feel closer to the Savior. I mean Laman and Lemuel saw an angel and still weren't converted! And even Alma the younger said that after his "conversion story," he fasted and prayed many days to have the Spirit confirm to him the truth.
Extra pday pics of a hike:

| That's me at the top. We didn't go any farther because of the loose rocks and it wasn't very safe (even though the rope is there to hold on to.) |

May the rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Farewell.
